BACKGROUND ABOUT ETHIOPIA

Ethiopia has an area of 1,112,000 sq.km. with an elevated central plateau varying in height between 2,000 and 3,000 meters. Ethiopia borders with Eritrea in the north, Djibouti & Somalia in the east, Sudan in the west and Kenya in the south. The recent population count reported 64 million. Administratively, the country is subdivided into 11 regional states, 62 zones, 8 special woredas and 523 woredas.
