Addis Bazaar Is Back

On September 8, 2001, Addis Bazaar, our annual fund-raising event, is coming back to the Christ Church Cathedral (Sparks at Bronson) in Ottawa.  The program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Addis Bazaar is Ahead’s main fund-raising event that brings together some 200 people who support our cause and enjoy a day of unique bazaar display, delectable cuisine and a diverse cultural show.  Addis Bazaar items are all hand-made, reasonable and one of a kind. Last year, Ahead sponsored 18 medical students of the Addis Ababa University, thanks to funds raised at Addis Bazaar. This year, we will double the number by sponsoring a new group of 18 medical students from the Jimma, Gondar and Addis Ababa faculties. All Ahead fellows are sponsored for three years.

Addis Bazaar is sponsored by the Christ Church Cathedral. Our patron, the Honourable Senator Donald Oliver will address the gathering while a youth musical contingent will perform Ethiopian cultural shows.
