A heart warming poem composed by Captain Haile Belai, Member of AHEAD in the celebration of the 2nd anniversary of Ahead.

 

 

Two, may seem to be young

        In fact, a child in a pram

        But, this was a different child

        Born with a mature mind

                It may be only two years in time

                When, a wish of a lifetime

                Came out to bear fruit

                From a tree, which was planted

                For millennia, of a culture so old

                That is not easy to record

        Yes, it is the second anniversary

        Of the time that you sat, for three

        To put into practice

        What you have always wanted

        To see, your brethren benefit

        From whatever that you have gained

        Since that time that you have left

                Thus, it was always with you

                The idea that became AHEAD

                Waiting,

                For the right time to be birthed

                And thus, that is what we celebrate

                Today, with smile and delight

        So dear friends

        Allow us to say CONGRATULATIONS

        For birthing an idea

        Which has always been in our minds

        To do what we can

        In whatever way possible

        To pay the debt that we have accumulated

        To say thank you

        To the country and people

        We have left behind

        Only physically,

        But never in spirit.
