AHEAD Network Continues to Expand

 

Ottawa (November 18, 2003) -- We are delighted to report that Pulsus Group of Oakville, Ontario has joined the growing network of AHEAD supporters. 

 

Pulsus Group Inc. is a privately owned Canadian company that publishes medical research journals. Pulsus Group currently publishes ten peer-review journals aimed at the Canadian specialists in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, Respirology, Paediatrics, Pain, Plastic Surgery and Sexual Medicine.  For more information on Pulsus Group or their publications, please visit their website at www.pulsus.com.

 

In October 2003, Pulsus Group donated 102 current medical books to AHEAD valued at $6,000.  Pulsus Group also made a commitment to partner with AHEAD and will continue to support us in various ways.  In presenting the donation to AHEAD, Pulsus Group Vice-President, Ann LeBlanc said "Pulsus Group is very pleased to be playing a role in your important work". 

 

One of the main objectives of AHEAD is to facilitate partnerships between Ethiopian and Canadian institutions in order to encourage an exchange of expertise and a mobilization of resources.  AHEAD is now actively seeking the means to ship those valuable books to medical faculties in Ethiopia.

 

AHEAD President Temesghen Hailu conveyed sincere appreciation to Ann and the staff of Pulsus for the generous donation and expressed confidence in a partnership between the two organizations. He said that partners like Pulsus are key to the fulfillment of AHEAD’s vision of making a difference to outstanding students who lack basic necessities.

 

As AHEAD continues to symbolize a unique Diaspora vision, there is a growing expectation to see the organization play an active role in the capacity building of Ethiopian academic institutions.
