AHEAD is pleased to announce that 12 second year students have been selected
from the Addis Ababa, Jimma and Gondar Medical Faculties of the Addis Ababa University as the first Ahead Bursary recipients.

So far 72 students have been selected from the Addis Ababa, Jimma and Gondar Medical Faculties of the Addis Ababa University

This brings the total number of fellows to 72 (24 each in the three medical faculties).
In the coming academic year we expect the batch of 2000-2001 to become interns,
most likely starting January 2005, this group will then stop receiving allowances.

It is to be recalled that in August 2000 AHEAD launched a bursary program for
medical students who receive monthly allowances for three consecutive years,
covering the period prior to their internship.
